The Calcutta
Foundation Academy
The Calcutta
Foundation Academy is proposed to be functional very soon to
look after the educational needs of young girls and boys who
lack the wherewithal to do so. A knowledge centre has been
proposed, which will impart Information Technology and Music
courses for the young adults from the weaker sections of
society. This will later be extended to other fields of art.
With generous
contributions from The Children’s Fund, USA, the Japanese
Government and corporate houses, the computer centre should be
ready for use by December 2001, in a modest building south of
Behala. Computers for this Academy have been donated through
the efforts of Dr Mrs Geeta Mehta of Tokyo.
Zensar, Pune,
has trained two young musicians from the CFO who will return
to Calcutta to head the Computer Section of the Calcutta
Foundation Academy.
Patronage of
benefactors from all over the world is sought to help us
maintain this Academy. |
