“Art for Heart’s Sake”

CF has been working with Udayan since 1998 and Steve Waugh was introduced to Udayan in 1998 by Shamlu Dudeja, and has spent a great deal of time and energy in boosting the morale of the children, and giving them a great deal of love.

An interesting kick-start to the various 40th year celebration activities was an a programme for all children of Udayan. An American friend, Stacey Clarfield Newman, a collagist of some repute from New York, was a resident teacher at Udayan, since early January.  At the end of her 6-week stint, some of the works of the children of Udayan was put in an exhibition at the Palladian Lounge on Feb 10-13th 2010.

On Feb 10th CF organized a painting exhibition at Palladian Lounge. The programme started from 6.30p.m. Renowned painter Suvaprasanna came to inaugurate the exhibition. Almost 45 colourful paintings were there. Stacey used her method of using recycling paper as “brush strokes” to create unique pieces of lyrical collages, containing abstracted mindscape and whimsical social commentary.
