THE BUSTEE PROGRAM

The main objective of the Bustee Program is to spread a little joy in the lives of children at Calcutta whose childhood has been destroyed of fun and frolic.

Our program includes holding parties for children from bustees from time to time. The latest party for the poor children was a Christmas Party held at the Raj Bhawan on 24 December 2000 where there was music and dance performance by Mr. Sandeep Vyas and his troupe. Our forthcoming "Holi" party will be held again at Raj Bhawan for 1000 children, on 3 March 2001, where a Jazz quintet from Tokyo will give a free concert to provide entertainment for the children. This has been possible with the help of the Japanese Consulate, Calcutta. We are grateful to the Park, Coca Cola and Rollicks for sponsoring the food for the occasion.

A similar party is also planned for the children of Udayan when Steve Waugh is in Calcutta during the forthcoming series of test matches in India.
